What is Swagbucks?
Swagbucks gives you online rewards. You can earn a variety of rewards for shopping, using search, and by watching videos.
You earn Swagbucks (SB), which is currency on the site. Some people report that it is equivalent to $8 an hour if you really work at it and stay consistent.
How do you start?
Once your account is created, you can earn by creating your profile. You’ll also want to install the browser extension and make it your default search engine. It is pretty user-friendly even if you aren’t great with technology.
How Do You Earn Rewards?
Doing different tasks on the site will earn you SBs. Each one is worth about a penny. There are a few ways to get your SBs to add up.
Similar to cashback sites like Ebates, Swagbucks gives you rewards for shopping through their links. You want to click through Swagbucks before going to a site like Amazon. Amazon pays Swagbucks and Swagbucks shares a bit of that with you. Either way, you are going to pay the same price, so why not earn some of it back?
For instance, Amazon pays up to 4 SBs for every dollar you spend on certain item categories. That’s roughly 4% cash back on any purchase you make.
Make Swagbucks your default search engine. You get between 25 and 50 SBs per day. Set and forget.
Filling Out Surveys
The most lucrative way to earn rewards is through paid surveys. Some of them pay up to 300 SBs each. You do have to qualify first, but they try to match you as best they can. Each survey takes about 20 minutes.
Swagbucks pays you to watch videos. You won’t earn a lot, this way, only up to 150 SBs per day. You can just turn off the sound on your computer, open up a new tab and keep the videos going in the background while you do other things.
Swagbucks offers coupons to help you save money at the store while also rewarding you with SBs when you use those coupons. You’ll earn 10 SBs for every coupon you use, which translates to an extra 10¢ cashback.
How to Earn Even More Rewards
If you really want to get serious about Swagbucks, you can explore entire blogs and forums dedicated to earning and redemption strategies. We’re really just exploring basic strategies here.
If you want to earn even more with Swagbucks, referrals are a fantastic way to make a lot of SBs as once. Whether you share a link on Facebook, email your friends or put a banner on your blog, once a friend signs up for Swagbucks through your link, you earn 10% of the SBs your referral earns for life. You can write a post like this one, and continually cash in on referrals.
How to Cash Out
You can usually expect to get roughly $1 on a gift card for every 100 SBs you redeem, and the redemption rate is the same across the board.
When you redeem your SBs as a reward, you don’t actually get your gift card right away. It can take up to ten days before you get an email from the site notifying you that your card is ready.
Just click on the link in that email and log into your account, and you’ll see your gift card.
