First, plan where you want the content to go.
This can help you with things like Instagram photos and Pinterest pins from the very beginning. You also might write something smaller version for an Instagram caption than for a whole blog post, or take out some solid quotes.
Pick several places for the content, around 3.
This could be any of the social media platforms, your blog, YouTube, a podcast, etc. You might not want to use one piece everywhere but definitely plan to reword and reuse some of it in more than one place.
Don’t worry about people seeing duplicates.
You might have people who follow you on all platforms but they still probably won’t see everything. It won’t just be because they won’t click, but there are also algorithms, naturally. But just in case, follow the next step.
Change it up a little.
Make each piece of the content that you are sharing a little different, don’t just copy and paste it. Don’t spend a ton of time on it but make it a bit different. In this way, if a person sees it more than once, it won’t be the word for word the same.
Ways to Repurpose Content
Use as Instagram or Facebook caption.
You might want to pick out the best quotes from a blog post, as an example. No reason not to use your best quotes more than one time. Planoly is a great way to be able to type up more wordy captions to go out on Instagram from your computer, and there’s even a free version. You can use Recurpost for Facebook and they have a free version too.
Use it for a topic to go live on Instagram or Facebook.
Use your blog post as an outline and do a live about it. It’s a great way to have a framework of what to talk about when you go live.
Create an email welcome sequence with your most popular posts.
Having an email list is huge, and you also need to make sure you are sending them content. Why not send your most popular posts right from the start? This will get them to see your best content and get them primed to buy from you. I use MailerLite.
Create multiple pins for Pinterest.
Make several pins for your most popular posts so more people will find the content. Make the pins different and see which ones do better. You want to get as many pins on Pinterest as you can to get your content in front of more people. You can use Tailwind to schedule your pins.
Create a Youtube video.
Make a Youtube video on the topics of your most popular posts, and then you can even embed the videos in your posts. More and more people love taking in content in the form of video, and this seems to be where social media is headed. YouTube is a huge search engine and you should definitely get your content in front of viewers on YouTube. I’ll be launching my YouTube channel soon, you can subscribe HERE.
Start a Podcast.
If you don’t want to get on a video you could start a podcast instead. Use your most popular posts as topics. People love podcasts and listen to them all the time when doing things like working out. Why not get your content out there, too?
Benefits of Repurposing Content
Saves you time.
You already have the framework, you might just have to change it up a little bit. You won’t have to start from scratch.
You’ll reach more people.
You’ll have content for many platforms this way. Most people probably don’t follow you everywhere, or even if they do, they probably stay on their favorite platforms most of the time. So it’s good to get yourself out there.
Increases online presence.
You’ll be on more platforms because you’ll have the content to do so. It’s good to focus on a couple and master them, but it doesn’t hurt to have content on all the major platforms.
You’ll rank higher with more keywords if you are reusing content on your blog. You might write posts on similar topics and use somewhat similar texts.
Easy to create.
Repurposing content makes content creation much easier because you have one piece go way further than before. You can just change it up a little bit and cover all your bases.

If you are interested in starting a blog of your own, I created a tutorial that will help you, How to Start a Blog. If you are asking yourself “Can you seriously make money blogging?” My main tip is to be self-hosted. This is essential if you want to monetize your blog. It also makes you look more professional to companies you will partner with. Blogging income won’t happen unless you are self-hosted. You can pick from these links: Bluehost, or HostGator.
