If you have a creative business like blogging or freelance writing you will find that you have a lot of competition. There are so many trends and things to keep up with it can be mind-boggling. Plus, how do you do what all these people are also doing and do it better? And would it be better to make a community with your competitors and work together?
Value the clients you already have. With freelance writing, you need to be constantly pitching. However, you need to take care of the clients you already have. Meet deadlines and go above and beyond.
Try to anticipate changes in business trends. It seems like everyone has an online course these days, but eventually, the market is going to be saturated. What will you do instead?
Explore other niches. You may write about one thing all the time but you might want to consider branching out. Always be learning and keep on top of what is going on in your industry.
Expand what you offer. Do you have a new product or service that will stand out from the competition? Start working on putting it together.
Be the best freelancer you can be. Meet deadlines and get your work done on time. This will increase your references and portfolio.
Network. Make friends in your niche. Partner up with competitors.
Practice self-care. Take time to take care of yourself and your health. If you have major burnout you won’t be able to get your work done. Make time for family, friends, hobbies, and other things that are enjoyable besides business.
If you have a creative business you may be worried about competition. There are ways to position yourself to get ahead. The industry is always changing and you will need to keep up with it and stay on top of your game.
