If you’ve ever spent any amount of time online, you know that making money is something that is often discussed. There are so many income reports on Pinterest who wouldn’t want to start a blog and possibly make thousands a month from it? However, blogging is not as easy as it looks, and there are definitely some things to keep in mind if you want to write a great blog post every time. Here are some tips for writing great content.
You’ll want to have decided on your niche before you start writing blog posts.
Not only that, but you might want to consider where these posts would fit in a sales funnel, what types of freebies you could create to help grow your email lists, and what products might take form from considering the content on a larger scale.
What can you teach?
Consider monetizing your passion. What do you already know? Consider the interests of your audience as well. Some ways to do this are through BuzzSumo using keywords about your niche. You can also check a question and answer site like Quora. Finally, you can preview ebooks on Amazon and check out the table of contents for free.
It is very important to have a great title for your blog post.
Highly converting titles are typically benefit driven. Instead of writing “3 Ways to Lose Weight,” you might consider “3 Ways to Lose Weight in Six Weeks,” instead. Check out my article on How to Generate Blog Post Titles and Ideas.
You’ll want to use keywords in your post. There are lots of articles online about how to utilize the Google Keyword Planner.
Use proper spelling and grammar.
It’s not the only important thing in blog post writing, as stated above, but it is still important. One great way to do this is Grammarly.
Use internal and external links.
This will help your post rank in search. Try sharing links of your favorite influencers work and then tagging them on social media. If you luck out they might share your work. Just don’t do it all the time, as it might look desperate.
Use high-quality images that are available for commercial use.
You do want to enhance your post but you do not want to get in trouble for stealing photos. If you need stock photos for things like Pinterest pins, consider Ivory Mix. There’s a ton to choose from and the cost of a subscription is reasonable.
Make your content easy to read. Write in a way that readers can skim.
List posts are great. Avoid walls of text. The fact of the matter is there is a good chance not everyone is going to read your entire post. Use appropriate headings and don’t go on and on. Get to the point.
Use social media sharing buttons in your post.
You want your audience to spread the word. This needs to be easy for your readers or they won’t do it. They’re fickle like that! Plus they might genuinely want to spread the word if they like you and the content you are putting out.
Add a call to action at the end of the post.
What do you want your reader to do? Subscribe? Spell it out for them. You need to make things easy for your readers. Don’t just assume they will do it because chances are they won’t.
If you put time into your work and you will reap the reward of a great blog post every time. Blogging is hard work but it is fun too and you can help your audience while doing something you love. What do you utilize to write a great blog post? Let me know in the comments below.
