Do you enjoy writing? Are you a blogger? You may have noticed that there are a lot of blogs online and may have heard that they are bringing in a lot of money. If you’d like to join the blogging movement, it is easy to start. However, it can be hard to maintain and stick with it for the long haul. The best advice I can give is to write about something you have a passion for. Once you set up your blog, there is the dreaded “About Me” page to set up. You might not like talking about yourself, but that’s okay.
It’s really about your ideal reader.
The secret sauce for a great blog post is to solve a problem for your target audience. You don’t even necessarily have to be an expert on the topic, you can be learning with your reader by doing experiments and research. Explain the goal of your blog and what you plan to share with the reader to help solve their problems.
Once you’ve explained what your blog is about, you should share what makes you different from the rest of the bloggers out there. Why should someone keep coming back to your site? What makes you, you? Introduce yourself.
Give some directions.
Make sure you have a call to action. Tell your reader where to go next on your blog. Provide links. This could be to your most popular posts or something you want them to read next.
Have a headshot. The reader wants to know who the writer is. You could even share something of yourself in your workspace.
Link social media.
Give your readers an opportunity to follow you on all your channels. You should also have a signup form for your email list.
With these tips, you should have a great “About Me” page on your blog. You are ready to hit publish! Make sure to keep your page updated and current for your readers. Don’t neglect this important piece of real estate on your blog.

If you are interested in starting a blog of your own, I created a tutorial that will help you, How to Start a Blog. If you are asking yourself “Can you seriously make money blogging?” My main tip is to be self-hosted. This is essential if you want to monetize your blog. It also makes you look more professional to companies you will partner with. Blogging income won’t happen unless you are self-hosted. You can pick from these links: Bluehost, or HostGator.
