Not long ago on Instagram, I shared my home “office” which is a corner of my living room. I thought I would share some items that I think are essential for a home office, at least for me. Some of these things you can actually pick up at a thrift store if you’d rather not buy online. My parrot mugs, which I love, were bought at Good Will.
Here are some links from various places that you might want to check out for your home office:
- Macbook Air
- iPad Pro
- Apple Pencil
- iPhone 8 plus
- Smart Lens tripod and selfie remote
- Michael’s Planner or EPIC BLOG: One Year Editorial Planner or Smart Blog Planner
- Mechanical pencils
- Parrot Mugs for Coffee & Pencil Holders
- Funky Art
There is, of course, plenty of things you will need for your home office if you are starting a freelance business, but the most important thing is to have a space that is yours (doesn’t need to be a whole room) where you feel inspired to create and like spending time at. As a freelance writer or blogger or both, you’ll be creating a ton of content and you want to do it somewhere practical, comfortable, and maybe a little whimsical. I hope you liked my list of top must-haves for the home office.
Also, if you could do me a favor and subscribe to my YouTube channel which will be launching soon. Thanks!

If you are interested in starting a blog of your own, I created a tutorial that will help you, How to Start a Blog. If you are asking yourself “Can you seriously make money blogging?” My main tip is to be self-hosted. This is essential if you want to monetize your blog. It also makes you look more professional to companies you will partner with. Blogging income won’t happen unless you are self-hosted. You can pick from these links: Bluehost, or HostGator.
