Do you have planning goals for your blog in 2018? If not you should. Here are some planner goals for bloggers.
Time management. I personally struggle with this but I am working on it. You should avoid time wasters during your working hours. A big-time killer is Facebook. Pick the groups that give you the best return on your time investment and stick with those. Schedule your social media instead of doing it manually all the time.
Create a to-do list for your day in your planner. Consider doing things like checking email in the morning, outlining things in the afternoon, write or record at night, block time for doing things like repurposing content. Check analytics once per week.
Have content goals. When figuring out what your goals are, consider how often you can create content (this means blog posts, videos, podcasts, everything). How you can repurpose one piece of content, and how you can help your audience.
Have promotion goals. Some people say you should promote more than you write. I would rather automate as much as possible and create more content. You should pick the two platforms doing the most for you and focus on those until you master them. Find what works for you. (For most bloggers, its Pinterest.)
Have income goals. Figure out how you plan to make money, whether its ads, sponsored posts, affiliate marketing, services (like freelance writing), or products.
Find the best way to promote your income strategy once you decide what it is. You can promote things on your blog with links in your sidebar, links in your menu, creating a blog post, and create free content upgrades with that blog post. You can promote on social media too, with affiliate links.
Stay motivated. Consider why you started a blog and go back to that. It can be hard to stay motivated, blogging is a lot of work. Consider building a mood board and hanging it above your workspace.
With these goals, 2018 can be your best year yet. You’ll be able to help your readers and make income.
