There are some stages that online lifestyle businesses typically take. If you focus on each stage you should be on your way to a successful business and decent income for yourself doing what you love.
Freelancing. This is where many self-employed people start. You go from working in one place to having several clients on your own. You’re probably happy but struggling to make more money. You could be a writer, designer or perhaps a consultant.
Owning a business. You wear a lot of hats as a business owner and may focus on marketing. You may still be a team of one. You’re working to build something that is sustainable long term. You don’t want to be dependent solely on a few clients and your income may have capped.
Having a product. You’ve build success owning your business. You’re now offering signature services and offerings that you are now known for. You’ll need to know how to package a service in a way that makes it sell itself.
Group programs. You are increasing the level of your product/service through a group but still, offer some individualized support on some level. You’ll be managing a community and perhaps doing group calls.
Information products. These types of products include things like ebooks and courses with a community. There might be standalone audio or video training involved. You’ll need little time investment aside from product creation.
You should know what stage you are at now and how it builds into the next stage. If you want success in the long term this is the way to do it. You’ll need to master each step for success in your online lifestyle business.
